Realizador e Animador
Abi Feijó é licenciado em Arte Gráfica e Design pela Escola Superior de Belas Artes do Porto. Foi no primeiro Cinanima (1977) que descobriu as potencialidades artísticas do Cinema de Animação. Em 1984 frequenta um estágio no Office National du Film du Canada, sob a orientação de Pierre Hébert, onde realiza o seu primeiro filme Oh que Calma (1985). De regresso ao Porto funda, em 1987, a Filmógrafo - Estúdio de Cinema de Animação do Porto onde privilegia o filme de autor e uma abordagem artesanal do Cinema de Animação.
Ao longo da sua carreira, Abi Feijó realizou diversos filmes de animação, ganhando destaque tanto nacional quanto internacionalmente. Ele é conhecido por suas técnicas inovadoras, muitas vezes combinando elementos de animação stop-motion com outros métodos. Um dos filmes mais conhecidos de Abi Feijó é "Clandestino", lançado em 1988, que recebeu aclamação da crítica e venceu vários prêmios em festivais de cinema.
Fundou, com Regina Pessoa, a Casa Museu de Vilar, um Museu da Imagem Animada, no solar de família que herdou na freguesia de Vilar do Torno e Alentém, no concelho de Lousada, em 2014. Uma das salas é dedicada aos trabalhos do próprio Abi Feijó e de Regina Pessoa, desde a aventura do estúdio Filmógrafo até à atividade actual da Ciclope Filmes.
Abi Feijó has a degree in Graphic Art and Design from the Porto School of Fine Arts. It was at the first Cinanima (1977) that he discovered the artistic potential of animation cinema. In 1984 he attended an internship at the Office National du Film du Canada, under the guidance of Pierre Hébert, where he directed his first film Oh Que Calma (1985). On his return to Porto, he founded Filmógrafo - Estúdio de Cinema de Animação do Porto in 1987, where he favoured auteur films and an artisanal approach to animation cinema.
Throughout his career, Abi Feijó has made a number of animated films, gaining prominence both nationally and internationally. He is known for his innovative techniques, often combining elements of stop-motion animation with other methods. One of Abi Feijó's best-known films is "Clandestino", released in 1988, which received critical acclaim and won several awards at film festivals.
Together with Regina Pessoa, Abi Feijó founded the Casa Museu de Vilar, a Museum of the Animated Image, in the family manor house he inherited in the parish of Vilar do Torno and Alentém, in the municipality of Lousada, in 2014. One of the rooms is dedicated to the work of Abi Feijó himself and Regina Pessoa, from the adventure of the Filmógrafo studio to the current activity of Ciclope Filmes.
